Be the change

Yesterday, I was able to experience something so incredible – We Day Atlantic Canada 2013.

We Day is an initiative of Free the Children that aims to empower youth to ‘be the change’ both locally and globally.  One of the coolest parts of this event is that you can’t buy a ticket – you must earn it through participating in a year-long program called We Act.

I was lucky enough to volunteer at the Maritimes’ first ever We Day on the public relations team.  I accompanied media around throughout the day, and even got to watch the interviews on the red carpet (Helllllooooo Jacob Hoggard).  It’s a full day later, and I’m still on an adrenaline high from being there – the thousands of cheering youth, the insane musical performances, the inspiring speakers… it was all awesome.

Technically, this meets the requirements of one of the items on my bucket list:

15. See a live performance (comedy, music, theatre, etc)

One down, 21 to go!
